What's in a name?

A perusal of the list of player names at this year's Open gave rise earlier this week to a lively, if short-lived, Golf Monthly debate about possible novelty pairings. There was interest in a JB Holmes and Tom Watson group, as there was for Rock and Funk. The best that we could come up with, however, was if Lee Westwood and SK Ho of South Korea were grouped, giving us a match with a true golfing ring to it. Needless to say, with two members of the venerable and historic North Devon links in the Golf Monthly editorial team at Hoylake, the Westwood – Ho third round pairing was cause for minor celebration. Who says we should we get out more?
